PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester voters can cast their votes early in the races for mayor and village Board of Trustees. Early voting will be held Tuesday through Saturday and Election Day is on March 19.

Residents can cast their vote at the Village Clerk's office at Village Hall between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Port Chester is the first community in New York to allow early voting to increase access.

Incumbent Mayor Dennis Pilla is running on the Citizens for Better Government ticket against challenger Neil Pagano, who is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines. The two are competing for a two-year term.

All six spots on the Board of Trustees are open. Running for re-election are incumbents Daniel Brakewood (D), Joseph Kenner (R), Saverio Terenzi (R, C, I), Luis Marino (D) and Bart Didden (C, I). Conservative John Branca is not seeking re-election.

The challengers in the race for Board of Trustees are Gregory Adams (D), Francis Ferrara (R), Ricardo Dos Anjos (C), John Reavis (Coalition Party) and Gene Ceccarelli (Pride In Port Chester).

In previous years voters could only give one vote to each candidate. This year there is a new cumulative voting system, meaning that voters can give more than one vote to candidates who are running on more than one ticket.
