Delvany Marques-Dos Santos, 48, turned herself into police Thursday following an investigation by the police department, said Sgt. Chris DiCarlo.

According to DiCarlo, the employee had worked for Marques-Dos Santos for several years and had fended off numerous unwanted sexual advances.

On Jan. 9, the employee ended up in the hospital having a panic attack following an incident in which Marques-Dos Santos had cornered the employee in a room and grabbed her hands, forcing her to touch her breast, DiCarlo said.

As the woman tried to get away, Marques-Dos Santos then grabbed the woman between the legs, he added.

The employee left work and when she got home she began feeling panicky and told her husband who then took her to Stamford Hospital.  Officials with the hospital notified the police, he said.

The victim put up with the treatment because she needed her job and was afraid of being let go, DiCarlo said.

Marques-Dos Santos was charged with first-degree sexual assault. She was released after posting $2,500 bond.
