Police confirmed that at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, three suspects, one of which was in possession of a weapon, walked into a Verizon store on Central Avenue, robbing the location and fleeing in a white Jeep, leading to an investigation between multiple local and county law enforcement agencies.

The suspects traveled through Yonkers, on several Westchester parkways, and into the Bronx before coming to a stop in Mount Vernon. The Jeep suffered extensive front-end damage, while a county police vehicle sustained minor damage. Two of the suspects have since been apprehended and are to be handed over to the Greenburgh Police Department. A search for a possible third suspect was ongoing.

The robbery, chase and police activity reportedly led to several Mount Vernon schools to enter their lockdown protocols. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 1 p.m. after the suspects were brought into police custody.
