Police said that at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, a 51-year-old man was standing on Mount Pleasant Avenue when he was approached by three men - later identified as 30-year-old Shammaya Mills, Angel Alvarado, 17, and 22-year-old Julio Alvarado - who allegedly punched him and stole his cell phone when he attempted to call 911.

Approximately two hours later, shortly after 11:30 p.m., the three men allegedly proceeded to accost a 20-year-old man from White Plains who was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and Hoyt Avenue. Officials said that Mills tried to open the passenger side door of the locked vehicle, prompting the driver to speed away and find a police officer to report what had happened.

Minutes later, a 32-year-old man was assaulted by the three suspects on Gertrude Avenue. Police canvassed the area and arrested the three men when they tracked them down on Mamaroneck Avenue.

All three men were subsequently processed and charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery, all felonies. Alvarado was also charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
