PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A Port Chester High School student was hospitalized on Thursday afternoon after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Newton Avenue.
Parents and teachers were notified about the 1:30 p.m. accident in which a student passenger in the vehicle reportedly received "a bump on the head."
School officials used the opportunity to remind students and parents in an automated telephone message about the importance of road safety and wearing seat belts.
The car involved in the accident apparently struck a parked car. Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded, taking the injured student to a nearby hospital.
