Port Chester Police Warn About False Con Ed Calls

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Port Chester police are asking residents to call the department or Con Edison to report any phone calls asking customers to buy  "money packs" and call the code in to people posing as Con Ed employees.

People posing as Con Ed employees call customers and ask them to buy money packs from CVS or Walgreens and call in information on the back of the item to pay off their bills.

Two Port Chester residents reported receiving  phone calls from an unknown area code Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police are investigating the two cases Port Chester Police Lt. Jim Ladeairous said.

If you get a suspicious cal, report it to the police at (914) 939-1000  and Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED.
