PORT CHESTER, N.Y. A man was pepper sprayed and arrested Saturday by police who said he stole baby formula from Walgreens in Port Chester then ran from police, according to Lt. James Ladearious.
Around 8:15 p.m. on July 21, an officer saw a security guard from the pharmacy at 107 North Main St. arguing with a man. The manager told police the man had stolen items from the store, which were in a bag he was carrying. Then man then took off running, police said. Police caught up with the man and told him to get on the ground, according to Ladearious. The man refused and would not take his hands out of his pockets, said police. The officer then pepper sprayed the man and arrested him. In the mans bag police found three cans of Enfamil Ladearious said.
The man was charged with petty larceny and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

Police are searching for three males who reportedly stole money and a Blackberry from a 25-year-old male on July 21. The victim was walking on Midland Avenue in Port Chester around 12:14 a.m. Saturday when the trio approached him, grabbed him by the throat and went through his pockets before taking a wallet containing $500 cash and the phone, then ran. The man was uninjured.
A West Glen Avenue resident reported that five large trash bags were found on his lawn on July 22. Ladearious said the trash contained party cups and other leftover remnants from a party. No one has been charged at this time.
