John McFarlane, of 202 Federal St., was charged with one count of first-degree robbery and is being held in the Bridgeport Correctional Center on unrelated charges. The Port Chester Police Department is seeking to extradite McFarlane from the State of Connecticut to face the Port Chester charge.

McFarlane allegedly entered the Subway shop at about 4 p.m. Dec. 26, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the female clerk. The woman handed over an undisclosed amount and was told to get on the floor and count to 10 as the robber left, police said. No one was injured in the incident.

Investigators are working to determine whether McFarlane is connected to similar incidents in the New York area.

Released from state prison in 2012, McFarlane is on parole and has a significant criminal history that includes armed robbery, said police spokesperson Lt. Jim Ladeairous.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this crime to contact the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-8419. All calls will be kept confidential.
