Port Chester Man Charged With Assault of Woman

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - A Port Chester man was charged with assault and resisting arrest, stemming from a Monday evening altercation with a 26-year-old Port Chester woman on a Sands Street sidewalk, police said.

According to Lt. James Ladeairous, when police arrived on the scene at 10:30 p.m., they found Ronald Harris, 34, of Port Chester surrounded by a group of people on all fours choking a woman on the sidewalk. Police said that Harris refused to stop choking the victim and police had to "rip him off her."

Harris, a resident of Weber Drive, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and resisting arrest; both misdemeanors.

DWI: Jose Vincente-Pelico, 39, of Port Chester, was charged with three misdemeanors and three violations in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Elm Street, police said. He was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, and unlicensed operation; all misdemeanors.

DWI: Port Chester resident Mara Aguaro, 21, was charged with DWI and unlicensed operation; both misdemeanors, after sideswiping a car on Poningo Street early Sunday morning, police said. Police said that when they approached Aguaro's green Lexus, the car went into reverse and hit the police cruiser.
