The firefighters had been fighting for their jobs for nearly a month after the city laid them off due to budget cuts, according to News 12.

Despite protests, the village and Fire Chief Edward Quinn haven't changed their decision to drop paid firefighters and go with an all-volunteer force. Rye Brook currently pays for Port Chester to staff its firehouse overnight. It is suing Port Chester to get the firefighters back, according to News 12 Westchester.
