Diego Chica, 26, physically restrained the victim and dragged her 25 feet to his car late Saturday night, police said. Chica continued to hold the victim against her will, leading to a physical altercation in the car, according to police.

The woman had cuts on her face and arms and her dress had been ripped, according to police. Defensive wounds found on the victim were consistent with ones found on Chica's body, police said.

Chica was not at the scene on Windy Knolls Road when police arrived, but he voluntarily went to Greenwich Police headquarters when he was contacted by authorities, police said.

He was charged with second-degree kidnapping, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree breach of the peace, third-degree assault and third-degree stalking.

Police set Chica's bond at $50,000, which he was unable to pay. He was placed in a cell block at Greenwich Police headquarters, according to police.
