Bronx resident Anthony Williams, 29, is facing up to 30 years in prison after being charged in a 19-count indictment for his role in stealing a pair of luxury cars from the Ray Catena BMW dealership on Tarrytown Road in Greenburgh, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced on Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Williams stole the identity of an attorney working for the United States Department of Justice and proceeded to fraudulently purchase the two vehicles on two separate dates at the dealership. Using a forged Maryland driver’s license in the name of the DOJ attorney, he purchased a BMW X6 and BMW 650xi.

The total value of the cars is estimated at approximately $186,267.20.

Williams was arrested on May 8 last year in Brooklyn while he was in possession of one of the vehicles. He has been charged with:

  • Two counts of grand larceny;
  • Two counts of identity theft;
  • Three counts of forgery;
  • Three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument; and
  • Three counts of falsifying business records.

Williams has pleaded not guilty to the 19 charges. He is due back in court at a later date to answer the charges, when he will face three decades in prison.
