Man Charged With Damaging Boat In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A Stamford man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly doing $500 worth of damage to a boat in the Port Chester Marina, police said.

Around 5:15 a.m., a 44-year-old Port Chester resident went to the marina to check on his boat when he saw a man in blue shorts and a blue shirt walking off his vessel, according to Lt. James Ladeairous, spokesman for the Port Chester Police Department. The boat owner tried to grab the man, but he got away. When the owner was looking for damage and missing items, he found that the area around a door had been broken, but that nothing had been taken.

Soon after, the owner called police to say he had found the suspect and was holding him. Caio Pifer, 37, of 42 Halloween Blvd. in Stamford was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony.
