Shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 8, New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a stretch of the interstate in New Rochelle, where there were reports of a one-vehicle crash that had caused property damage.

During the investigation into the crash, troopers said that the driver, Bronx resident Jorge Molina, 36, gave probable cause to search him and his vehicle, which determined he was in possession of an estimated .02 ounces of cocaine and was in violation of a valid court order.

Molina was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal contempt. He was arraigned in the City of New Rochelle Court on Monday morning, though state police did not provide bail information or a return court date.
