PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A 25-year-old man was arrested Saturday in Port Chester for allegedly ramming a shopping cart through the front door of a Pathmark, causing $500 worth of damage.

Around 5:13 a.m. a worker at Pathmark, 130 Midland Ave., reported to police that a man was trying to get into the closed store. The man was yelling and banging on the door, so the worker told him the store was closed and would not open it, police said.

Shortly after the worker went back to his duties, he heard a large crash and found the man had broken the door with a shopping cart, police said.

Sean Fields, 25, of 35 Davenport Ave., New Rochelle, was charged with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
