Dozens Charged In Massive Mount Vernon Drug Sweep

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Dozens of suspected drug dealers were rounded up in Mount Vernon on Wednesday, according to a report by News 12.

The nearly yearlong investigation, which resulted in 32 arrests, was conducted by local and county police with the help of the FBI, News 12 reported.

Police said that many of the suspects were violent gang members, the report said.

They were all charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, News 12 said. The drugs involved included heroin and cocaine, the report said.

More arrests are expected, the report said.
