Bomb Squad Called After Knapsack Found In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford bomb squad was called in after an unattended knapsack was found at about 7:30 a.m. Friday in Harbor Point, police said.

Police Chief Jonathan Fontneau said the bomb-sniffing dog wasn't able to detect any explosives, and the scene was cleared by 9 a.m. The knapsack was located near the World of Beer at 18 Harbor Point Road.

There was no information on the contents of the knapsack.
