PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Theresa G. Brady of Port Chester died March 20. She was 97.
Brady was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Harrison, N.Y., daughter of John and Dorothy Keller Gottberg.
Growing up she lived in Brewster, Pleasantville and Chappaqua, graduating from Horace Greeley High School.
She performed for a short time as a violinist with the Westchester Philharmonic. She married and settled in Port Chester, where she kept home and raised her children. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was a member of the Mother's Club, Seniors Club, the Altar Society, serving as president for many years, and Catholic Daughters of America, serving as treasurer. She was also a longtime election worker for the Westchester County Board of Elections.
Brady is survived by children, Theresa Marshall (George) and Brian Brady (Anne) of Port Chester, Agnes Orr (Jerry) of Southport, N.C., Marie Gower (Henry) of Newtown, Conn.; daughter-in-law Arlene Brady of Darien, Conn.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a honorary grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, John; John J. Brady, Jr.; sisters, Margaret O'Connor, Emma McCue, Dorothy Ackerley; brother, John Gottberg.
Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday March 21, at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday March 22, at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, N.Y.
