Sidney Slifstein, 99, Owned Capitol Radio In Port Chester

NAPLES, Fla. - Sidney Slifstein of Naples and Harwich Port, Mass., died Dec. 21. He was 99.

Slifstein was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Abraham and Dora (Guralsky) Slifstein. He was a business owner of Capitol Radio in Port Chester, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary during World War II and was stationed at City Island. He was employed at Allen Harbor Marina in Harwich Port until a few years ago.

Slifstein is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Paul of Nevada; step daughter, Cynthia Maciaga of Boston and Yarmouth Port; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Jessie, Hilda, Evelyn and Matthew.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 at Congregation KTI Cemetery, Memory Lane in Greenwich, Conn.
