Rose Cumming, 88, Lifelong Port Chester Resident

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Rose D. Cumming, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Friday, Aug. 31. She was 88.

Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Port Chester, she was a daughter of Anthony and Catherine Siclare Fotia. She was raised and educated in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School.

Cumming graduated from New York University and worked as a music teacher and homemaker. She was married to Charles W. Cumming Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Cumming, of Port Chester, and Deborah Ridolfo, of South Salem; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Her husband died on Dec. 13, 2001. She also was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Peter and Victor Fotia; and a sister, Minnie Manning.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, at All Souls Parish in Port Chester. There will be no visitation and burial is private. Craft Memorial Home is handling arrangements.
