Rocco Scappatura, 98, Of Rye Brook, Millwright At R.B. & W. In Port Chester

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Rocco Scappatura, a resident of Rye Brook, died Nov. 13. He was 98.

Scappatura was born April 30, 1916, to Rocco and Angela Scappatura. He was raised and educated in Port Chester. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a millwright having worked at R.B. & W. in Port Chester for 20 years.

Scappatura is survived by his son, Ronald Scappatura (Mary Ann) of Rye Brook; a granddaughter; and sister, Margaret Chiappetta of Monroe, Conn. He was predeceased by his wife, Annette Calabro; brothers, Dominick, Nino, Peter and Philip; and sister, Jennie.

Calling hours are from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook.
