CROMWELL, Conn. - Robert Leahy of Cromwell, and formerly of Port Chester, N.Y., died July 25. He was 92.
Leahy was born July 6, 1922, in Port Chester, to William and Mariagnes Leahy. He was raised and educated in Port Chester. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, first on the USS Iowa in the Atlantic Theater and then aboard the USS Hancock in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired postal clerk for the Port Chester Post Office and was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
Leahy is survived by his children, Wayne Leahy (Sharon) of Cromwell, Gail Feldman (Richard) of Norwalk and Nancy Annunziato (Frank) of Tombstone, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rose; and brother, Father Stephen Leahy.
Calling hours are from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mercy Church, 260 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, N.Y. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook, N.Y.
