PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Rene Prochelle, of Port Chester, died Wednesday, May 25. He was 86.
He was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Valdivia, Chile, to Eric and Katya (Otto) Prochelle. He received his education in Valdivia and Buenos Aires. He started his lifelong career in ocean transportation in Buenos Aires. He came to the United States in the early 1960s. He married Kirsti Pettersen in 1971. After he retired, he volunteered at the now closed United Hospital in Port Chester for many years. He also tutored Spanish for several years.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Craft Memorial Home Inc. 40 Leicester St., Port Chester, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m.
