PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Nicholas J. Melone, 64, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died Tuesday, Feb. 24.
He was born Dec. 2, 1950, in Port Chester.
He was the third son of the late Salvatore and Rose Kusza Melone. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed by Arnold Bakery (now Bimbo) as a master mechanic for more than 27 years.
Prior to his work at Arnold, he worked for Hilton Hotels Biswanger Properties and Metro-North Railroad at the Cos Cob, Conn., power plant. Melone was a man of varied interests, including being a history buff, a lover of many types of music, including rock, big band and opera.
Melone is survived by his brothers, George and William Melone; a nephew, Nicholas E. Melone and wife Valerie and their children Peter, Luke and Kathryn, all of Port Chester; a stepbrother, Carl Siriani of Shelton, Conn.; along with several cousins. He was a loving and generous man who was loved by many.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Craft Memorial Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Holy Rosary Church Don Bosco Place, Port Chester. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
