Nicholas M. DeCarlo Sr., 81, Formerly Of Port Chester And Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Nicholas M. DeCarlo Sr., 81, born Sept. 24, 1933 in Port Chester, N.Y., peacefully passed away at Connecticut Hospice Sunday, March 8, 2015.

After graduating from Port Chester High School in 1950, DeCarlo served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-56 serving during the Korean War, and went on to be a successful project manager, retiring in 1999.

He spent his life living in Port Chester, Stamford, Stoughton, Mass., Westerly, R.I., and Stratford.

He was predeceased by his father, Dominick and mother, Theresa DeCarlo; a daughter, Lisa DeCarlo; and great-grandson, Aiden Carella.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sheila M. Dutton DeCarlo; a daughter, Dina and her husband, Joel Fredriksson; a son, Nicholas Jr. and his wife Sandra; three brothers, Anthony, Dominick and James DeCarlo; a sister, Ann Marie Carpentieri; five grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Kristofer, Vincent and Sophia; six great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A military funeral for immediate family will be held in Middletown, Conn., and a memorial service will be held for friends and extended family at a date and time to be announced. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nicholas' name to the American Cancer Society.
