Maria Chiappetta, 63, Of Port Chester, Homemaker

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Maria Chiappetta, a resident of Port Chester, died Sept. 18. She was 63.

Chiappetta was born Feb. 19, 1951, in San Filli, Italy, to Francesco and Giulietta Granata Lio. She was raised and educated in Italy. Before immigrating to the United States in 1972, she lived in Germany. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church.

Chiappetta is survived by her husband, Franco; son, Frank; daughter, Ersilia Chilelli (Domenico) all of Port Chester; brothers, Franco Muto (Franca) and Carmine Lio (Maria Teresa) all of Port Chester; sisters, Emma Cecere (Martino) of Greenwich, Conn., and Angela Coppa (Gustavo) of Port Chester; two grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ersilia Agostino; brother-in-law, Vincenzo Chiappetta (Anna) all of Italy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and son, Pasquale Chiappetta.

Calling hours are from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook.
