Leo Tigano, 92, Lifelong Port Chester Resident, WWII Veteran

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Leo Tigano, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Dec. 30. He was  92.

Tigano was born Oct. 24, 1921 to Angelo and Mildred Celestino. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1940, and served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He worked as a shipping clerk for 27 years at Byram Surgical, retiring in 1986.

Tigano is survived by his daughters, Mary Lou (Anthony) Santora and Deena (Anthony) Lovallo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Claire Miltner; and son, Robert.

Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gunipero Farenga Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3 in Holy Rosary Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY.
