John Andrew Gibb, 74, Of Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. — John Andrew Gibb, a resident of Port Chester, died Monday, April 6. He was 74.

Gibb was born Aug. 6, 1940, in Paisley, Scotland, to Jack and Anna Andrew Gibb. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1958 and became a firefighter for the village of Port Chester, retiring after 21 years.

He went on to be a registered emergency room nurse for United Hospital in Port Chester and Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital, using his associate degree in nursing from Westchester Community College.

Gibb is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Kiley-Gibb; his sons, John Scott Gibb and his wife, Debra of Stamford, Conn., Derek Andrew Gibb and his wife, Angel, of Poughquag; six grandchildren; a sister, Jacqueline Gibb Faulhaber and her husband, William, of West Yarmouth, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Craft Memorial Home, with a funeral service to follow at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Gibb to the Disabled American Veterans or the Burn Unit at Westchester Medical Center are welcomed.
