Jerry Charles Holder, Longtime Port Chester Resident, Truck Driver

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Jerry Charles Holder, a longtime resident of Port Chester, dIed Friday, July 26. He was 68.

Holder was born July 29, 1945, to Fred D. and Gwendolyn (Whitley) Holder in Zebulon, N.C., where he graduated the public schools. Employed as a long distance truck driver he also coached over 35 years for Don Bosco Little League Baseball. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Port Chester and their Fund Raising Club.

Holder is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Jones; sons, William Bradshaw and Garrett James; daughters, Sylvia Holder, Jill Soto (Hector), and Nydia Blackwell; sister, Helena Kenyon (Lenard); 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters-in-law; four aunts; nieces, nephews; and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister; and eight brothers.

Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 2 from 9 to11 a.m. Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 23 Slater St., Port Chester. The funeral will take place at 11a.m.,  at the church. The final disposition will be at the Ferncliff Cemetery.
