Frank Sniadack, 91, Of Port Chester, Physical Education Teacher, Head Coach

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Frank "Doc" Sniadack, a resident of Port Chester, died Dec. 11. He was 91.

Sniadack was born and raised in New Britain, Conn. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II, and received his Bachelor's degree from Columbia University, where he was an All American Football Player. He then served as a physical education teacher and head coach for 40 years at Killingly High School in Connecticut, and Port Chester High School and Rye Neck High School in N.Y. He was selected as Westchester County Coach of the Year three times.

Sniadack is survived by his daughter, Katherine E Roode of Lake Carmel; son, Dr. David H Sniadack (Margarita) of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Sniadack of Ossining; two grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; and sons, Frank and Thomas Sniadack.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Craft Memorial Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 360 Westchester Ave., Port Chester. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
