Eileen Marie Kiyak, 92, Of Rye Brook, Owned Port Chester Rug & Linoleum

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Eileen Marie (Sava) Kiyak of Rye Brook died Sept. 4. She was 92.

Kiyak was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Port Chester, daughter of Sal J. and Anne (Conway) Sava. She was a resident of Rye Brook for over 60 years. She graduated from Port Chester Senior High School in 1939. She worked alongside her Dad in his restaurant, the Old Post Grill. She started her career as a model for Franklin Simon and then as an assistant in the motion picture business for Benedict Bogus Production in New York City. In 1948 she and her husband John started Port Chester Rug & Linoleum in Port Chester.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a member of the Seton Circle. Eileen was a charter member of Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich. She was also a member of the Rye Brook Seniors.

Kiyak is survived by her children, John M. Kiyak and girlfriend, Laura Roth-Marino of Brewster, Kathianne Robins (Dennis) Stern of Stamford, and Suzanne McCarthy (Patrick) of Syracuse; six grandchildren; four great grandsons; sister Sallyann (Chester) Forman of Greenwich; sister-in-law, Marian Kiyak of Athens, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, John Kiyak; and sister, Rosemary "Mickey" Redding.

Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gunipero-Farenga FH in Port Chester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 7. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
