Edward Robert Plant, 89, Of Port Chester, Owned Eddy Moving And Storage

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Edward Robert Plant, a resident of Port Chester, died April 17. He was 89.

Plant was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Port Chester to Edward and Madelon Haviland Plant. He was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1941 and attended Admiral Billard Academy in New London, Conn. He served in the Merchant Marines.

Plant was an entrepreneur, having owned and operated Eddy Moving and Storage and Eddy Messenger Service. He was a member of the 40/40 Club.

Plant is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Jane Plant, Joan Blanchard, Doug Plant, Robert Plant and Judy Plant; 12 grandchildren; and sister Janet Bova Plant. He was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service followed by a luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Coveleigh Club 459 Stuyvesant Ave., Rye.
