Catherine "Kate" Johnson, 92, Port Chester Native

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Catherine "Kate" Johnson, a native of Port Chester, died Oct. 21. She was 92.

Johnson was born Aug. 8, 1923, in Port Chester, to the late Andrew and Sadie Telesco Santora.

She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1941. She married Joseph Johnson Sept. 8, 1946 at Holy Rosary Church.

Johnson was a homemaker and a parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church. She also was active at the Port Chester Senior Center.

She was predeceased by her husband; her brothers, William and James Santoro; and a sister, Josephine Ianello

She is survived by her son, Joseph Johnson Jr. and wife Patricia of Port Chester; and daughter Kathy Donovan and husband Pat of Garnerville; brother, Michael Santoro of White Plains; grandchildren, Tony Celini and wife Amy of Nyack, Joseph Johnson III of Port Chester, and Michael Johnson and wife Jennifer of Valley Cottage; great-grandchildren Sam Celini, Nate Celini, and twins Alice and Cassandra; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Craft Memorial Home Inc., 40 Leicester St., Port Chester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Church, 22 Don Bosco Place, Port Chester. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
