PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Bernard N. Salvatore, of Port Chester and formerly of Yonkers, died July 6. He was 67.
Salvatore was the son of Bernard and Mary (Vitulli) Salvatore. He was a self-employed insurance appraiser, working primarily in the automotive field. From 1965 to 1967 he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. of the U.S. Army.
Salvatore is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Owen-Mercaldi); children, Ralph Salvatore, PhD.:brother, Ronald (Alice) Salvatore; step-children, Jaime, Jennifer and Richard Mercaldi; PaPa "Be" of Laura, Alex and Emma. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Richard (Ellen) Salvatore.
Calling hours Wednesday, July 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11 at St. Ann Church. Committal service at Woodlawn Chapel.
