Anthony Tedesco, 84, Port Chester Mechanic

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Anthony Letterio Tedesco of Port Chester died Aug. 18 at his home. He was 84.  

Tedesco worked as an auto and maintenance mechanic for R.B. & W., Purchase College SUNY and Pitney Bowes for 49 years before retiring in 2000. 

He was born on Jan. 2, 1928, in Villa San Giovanni, Reggio di Calabria, Italy to Guiseppe and Santa Tedesco. He served in the Italian Navy from 1945 to 1948 and lived in Villa San Giovanni until 1955. Tedesco then moved to Port Chester, where he was a resident for 56 years. 

Tedesco is survived by his wife, Anna; a daughter, Nella (Louis) Larizza; a son, Joseph (Karen) Tedesco, of Greenwich, Conn.; and seven grandchildren. A brother, John Tedesco, died in 2011; and a sister, Santa, died in 2012.  

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich. Joseph Tutera Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester.
