What's Closed On Columbus Day In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – All government and public buildings will be closed on Columbus Day in Port Chester and Rye Brook, which will alter the sanitation schedule for the first half of the week.

All government offices and post offices in Port Chester and Rye Brook will be closed in observance of the federal holiday. The library will be closed Monday. All Port Chester Public Schools and Blind Brook Public Schools will be closed.

In Port Chester, there will be no trash collection Monday and no bulk/trash/green waste collection Wednesday. Monday’s pick-up shifts to Tuesday and Tuesday’s pick-up shifts to Wednesday. The scheduled pick-ups for Thursday and Friday are unchanged.

In Rye Brook, Monday garbage collection will move to Tuesday and Tuesday garbage collection will move to Wednesday. The scheduled pickups for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will remain the same. Recycling schedules remain the same, and there will be bulk trash collection, but no green waste collection this week.

There are no planned service changes for Metro North or the Bee Line.
