Water Main Break on Ridge Road in Rye Brook

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - United Water officials received a call from the Port Chester Fire Department around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning about a water main break on Ridge Road in Rye Brook just outside of Crawford Park.

Robin Castaldo of United Water said that luckily he was in the area when they received the call and he and his team of six subcontractors from Creamer were able to isolate the leak right away. Castaldo also confirmed that there was a break in the 12-inch water main. The cause of the break is unknown at this time.

"I can't blame it on the weather, and the main is not that old," Castaldo said. "Sometimes these things just happen."

United Water's Director of Communications Deb Rizzi confirmed that over 100 Rye Brook residents have been affected by the break.

Castaldo said he was hopeful that water will return to the affected area between four and six hours. Castaldo added that a potential source could be the saddle that feeds 119 Ridge Rd.
