Darlene Smith has been a postal worker for 27 years. She purchased the ticket while picking up a birthday cake for her husband. Smith said she is still undecided if she will take a lump sum of $2.36 million, or opt for the 20 annual payments of $150,000, LoHud.com reported.
This marks the third time this year a resident in the Lower Hudson Valley has won several million dollars in the lottery. In January, a Yonkers man won $5 million and a Congers man won $7 million last week, LoHud.com said.
