Two Car Break-ins Reported in Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. — Two car break-ins involving the theft of over $500 in cash and a piece of electronics were reported to Port Chester Police on Monday and Tuesday.

The first incident occurred Monday at around 7 a.m. outside 360 Westchester Ave. According to Lt. Jim Ladeairous, the complainant, a 34-year-old Tarrytown newspaper delivery woman, was dropping off papers to the apartment complex when over $550 in cash was taken from her unlocked 2012 Toyota.

Ladeairous said the incident was not reported until 9 a.m., and that the money had been collected earlier that morning from other dropoff points.

At approximately 6:18 a.m on Tuesday, police received a report from a Port Chester woman who had parked her car overnight on Eldredge Street. According to police, the front passenger window on the complainant's 2004 Saturn was shattered and her GPS, valued at $200, was missing.
