Top Stories 2012: Unconscious Man Robbed In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. ? The Port Chester Daily Voice will lead into the new year by counting down, in no particular order, the Top 10 headlines from 2012.

One of the top stories of the year was the robbery of an unconscious man lying on a North Main Street sidewalk. Security camera footage posted online by a blogger showed the man, since identified as Elias Rojas, on the night of May 20. While he was lying there, numerous people walked past without stopping, and he was robbed multiple times. 

On June 3, police arrested Melissa Rodriguez, 34, of Manhattan, at the nightclub La Dolce Vita just a few doors from where the incident occurred. Rodriguez was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. Rodriguez took a set of headphones from Rojas,, police said.

The next day, David Roman, 27, of Port Chester, turned himself in and was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

A wallet containing $400 was taken from Rojas, police said.
