RYE BROOK, N.Y. Daniel Magnus knew he had found a business he could believe in when he took a bite into his first "Elevation Burger" made with 100 percent organic, grass-fed, free-range beef.
"It was perfection," said Magnus, a Rye resident. "And I loved the concept. It immediately resonated with me."
Magnus recently opened up his first Elevation Burger franchise in Rye Brook at the Rye Ridge Shopping Center.
The Virginia-based company is built on a model of environmental sustainability, using USDA-certified organic beef produced from livestock raised humanely in grass pastures, free of the ever-increasing amounts of antibiotics, pesticides, and chemicals used in producing industrial feedlot beef.
"It's kind of scary when you think about how the industry in unsustainable the idea that we wont be able to feed ourselves eventually," said Magnus in reference to the beef industry.
Magnus may be environmentally conscious, but he is also a businessman.
"With food, ideals are great, but in the end you need to have a burger that tastes good," said Magnus. "And better ingredients make for better flavor. We have the best-tasting burgers in the business."
The standard Elevation Burger begins at $5.79, which is served with two beef patties and a choice of free toppings. A slice of aged-cheddar can be added for 40 cents.
Vegetarian and vegan options are also available on the menu along with fresh-cut fries cooked in olive oil and milkshakes made with antibiotic-and-hormone-free dairy. Our organic approach at Elevation Burger ensures a quality experience built on sustainability and a healthy future for our kids, said Magnus.
