Heavy rains coupled with high tide could create localized flooding in the low-lying areas along the western side of Long Island Sound.

Tides are expected to be between 6 inches and 1 foot above normal.

Flooding could have an impact on shore roads and adjacent properties, though minimal damage is expected.

Showers and gusty winds are expected to continue through the evening and into Christmas morning before moving out of the area after 10 a.m.
