Bill Collins has been selling suits to business types and renting out tuxedos to high school students at JoS. A. Bank in downtown Rye since the men's shop opened five years ago.
Now, as prom season comes to a close, Collins has been privy to a growing trend in the color's these young men are wearing to proms."A lot of pink vests went out of here this year," said Collins. "I couldn't believe it. I think it's great."Collins said prom season is a good time for his type of business, but it's also a lot of fun for him too.
"We know this is an important time for these young guys," he said. "So we try make it a good time for them, make them laugh."Collins said he was happy to see guys choosing more bold colors and making an effort to match with their dates' dresses."You don't want to go in there looking like everybody else," he said.
