WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, along with voter awareness and registration nonprofit HeadCount.org, has awarded scholarships for 10 hardworking local teachers to attend a two-day curriculum-training program at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland on Thursday, July 31, and Friday, Aug. 1.
The teachers will receive training on bringing rock 'n' roll history into their classrooms, with an emphasis on activism and music's role as an agent of change.
The following local teachers received the scholarship: Mary Barresi from Shrub Oak, Martin Gilbert from Armonk, Naomi Gilbert from Hastings-on-Hudson, Brian McClintock from Mount Pleasant, Tiffany Morris from Mount Vernon, Suzanne N. Mosca from Chappaqua, Richard Salerno from New Rochelle, Stan Serafin from Chappaqua, Marshall Toppo from Rye and Linda Ventura, Port Chester.
