PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Port Chester Village Manager Christopher Steers terminated emergency evacuation orders for all areas of the village of Port Chester by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Sixty-five percent of Port Chester and seventy-five percent of Rye Brook remained without power Tuesday night, as restoration efforts continued by Con Edison.

Many roads in both villages are blocked by downed trees and wires, causing hazardous road conditions. Residents were asked not to travel Tuesday.

Port Chester and Blind Brook schools will remain closed on Wednesday. All offices of the village of Port Chester are now open.

In Port Chester, regular garbage pickup for Tuesday in Port Chester will be moved to Wednesday. All Thursday and Friday garbage pickup will be on regular schedule, but there will be no bulk waste pick up on Wednesday.

Port Chester High School will remain open as a shelter for those in both villages displaced by the storm until further notice.
