PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - A Port Chester woman was charged with assault in the third degree after stabbing her husband last weekend. According to Lt. Jim Ladeairous of the Port Chester Police Department, the desk officer received a call around 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 27 from a man claiming his wife had assaulted him with a kitchen knife.
Police arrived at 45 Traverse Ave. to discover the 29-year-old male standing outside his home bleeding and nursing his back. Shortly after the police arrived the woman emerged from the house claiming her husband had been hitting her and that she was acting in self-defense.
The man was quickly rushed to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where it was discovered that the wound was only one inch deep and did not puncture any vital organs.
