According to the Centre, Carey has more than 25 years of management experience and is a "seasoned" executive and administrator. Carey previously served as administrator of Elant at Wappingers Falls in addition to holding executive positions with a variety of community service organizations.

Carey, who received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his Master's from Syracuse, has also received numerous awards including the New York City Council Community Service Award, the New York State Governor's Imitative for Volunteer Excellence (GIVE) Award, the Department of Health and Human Services Federal Community Service Award, and the American Society for Public Administration Public Service Award.

Carey spoke very highly about Port Chester Nursing's reputation.

"This facility is known for providing outstanding patient care," Carey said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to initiating some new and exciting clinical programs that will both continue and expand our connection with local communities."

The Centre currently provides more than 15 different services to hundreds of local residents including hospice, physical therapy, speech therapy and short and long term rehabilitation.
