PORT CHESTER, N.Y. The Port Chester Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre has added a unique neurorehabilitation program to treat patients with Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, dementia or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or who have had strokes or spinal cord injuries.
"We are proud of the tremendous success we have had treating paralysis and progressive neuropathic disorders," nursing administrator Stephen Carey said. "Our goal is to improve the quality of life for the many patients in our care."
The program will be available seven days a week and includes a variety of therapies and training techniques, a statement said. The program will be supervised by a board-certified neurologist and will be administered by specialized physicians and surgeons.
"We take a deliberate clinical, scientific and academic approach to neurorehabilitation, offering each individual the most customized treatment plan for optimal success," Carey said.
