Port Chester Man Charged with Aggravated DWI

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Port Chester resident Juan Mayen-Lopez, 31, has been charged with aggravated DWI, in addition to other charges, after a hit-and-run incident on I-95 Saturday evening.

According to Lt. Jim Ladeairous of the Port Chester Police Department, police received a call around 9 p.m. Saturday evening from a witness claiming he saw a hit-and-run on I-95. The unnamed witness followed the driver of a red pick-up truck to South Main Street and provided police with a description of the vehicle and the damages.

After arriving at the location provided by the witness, the police identified Mayen-Lopez as the driver and soon discovered he was both heavily intoxicated and not a licensed driver. Mayen-Lopez has since been charged with aggravated DWI (BAC was twice the legal limit), unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and driving without a seatbelt.
