PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - A Port Chester man was arrested and charged with the class e felony aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle after he was stopped by a patrolman early on Monday morning.
Lt. James Ladeairous of Port Chester Police said that Dennis Arroyo, 22, was driving on Westchester avenue in his Honda Civic at 1:15 a.m. on Monday morning when a patrolman saw that the car had a headlight out. Lt. Ladeairous said that when the patrolman approached the vehicle he noticed there were five passengers and only one seat.One of the passengers included a five year old who was not in a booster seat.
Lt. Ladeairous said that the officer, suspecting that Arroyo was intoxicated, conducted a sobriety test which he failed.
In addition to the charges against Arroyo, the child's mother, Tiffany Mancero, 23 of Port Chester, was charged with the endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
